First Alert Weather: Tracking a new tropical storm and how our weekend weather may be impacted
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Tropical Storm Isaias has formed over the warm gulf water south of Texas. This storm is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane later today and tonight and approach Cat 2-3 intensity later in the week as is approaches Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. Stay tuned to News10 for updates on the storm strength and path. After Isaias makes landfall, the remnants will move north and may impact our region later in the weekend with some rain on Sunday. Our weather on Saturday looks wonderful for any outdoor fall activities but it may turn wet sometime Sunday into the Monday holiday. The exact timing and track of Isaias will ultimately impact the effects we feel here so stay tuned to News10 for updates into the weekend.

First Alert Weather: Tracking some frost Tuesday morning, then more sunshine
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We have some classic October air on the way this week, starting off with a crisp, cool night Monday night. Temperatures will drop into the 30s south of Rochester, with widespread frost likely south of Route 5&20. A Frost Advisory has been posted for Wyoming County into early Tuesday morning. Patchy frost will be possible south of Rochester. So while there’s a much lower chance of damage to plants, you may want to protect any temperature-sensitive plants you want to keep thriving. Tuesday will be another cool but very nice day, with highs in the upper 50s and plenty of sunshine.

Rain chances small, not zero heading into next week
Following a line of showers Friday morning, a strong system of high pressure has fully entrenched itself across the eastern Great Lakes bringing clear skies, cool temperatures, and very quiet weather. The rest of the afternoon and evening on Saturday will be dry as skies remain clear. With dew points in the upper 30s and clear skies, temperatures will rapidly fall this evening. Saturday morning temperatures made it into the 30s in some spots.
