( KRON ) — The Petaluma Police Department said Wednesday that there were "no known credible threats to the school or staff" after graffiti was located at Kenilworth Junior High School that referenced a shooting that would happen Thursday.

According to Kenilworth school officials, the graffiti, which read "school shooting Thursday," was found by a staff member in one of the school's bathrooms. "We immediately reported the found graffiti to the Petaluma Police Department and are checking our security cameras and hall passes from classrooms to identify possible student(s) involved," Principal Justin Mori wrote in a statement.

Kenilworth Junior High School will have a standard school schedule on Thursday. However, Mori stated that there would be an increased police presence on campus "out of an abundance of caution."

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact the Petaluma Police Department at (707)-778-4372.
