San Francisco's Upper Great Highway: Results of Proposition G

San Francisco residents have voted to keep the city closed to private vehicles for the second time in two years, opting to maintain its newest Coastal park, the Sunset Dunes. The San Francisco Chronicle called the measure. As of 11 p.m., residents have voted no on Prop G, with 109,160 (62.8%) voting in opposition and 64,656 (37.2%) voting yes. What is Prop G? Ultimately, Prop K passed, earning 206,042 votes in support, or about 54% of the vote. The city of San Francisco then spent about $820,000 in public funds to create Sunset Dunes Park, removing old traffic signals and renovating the area for public use. As of June 2026,
