Car wash raises money for family of Perry school shooting victim Ahmir Jolliff

GRIMES, Iowa (WHO) — The Dallas Center-Grimes National Honor Society used its junior service project to help the family of 11-year-old Ahmir Jolliff, who was killed in the January school shooting in Perry .

Over the weekend the group offered car washes for $10 at the old Grimes library with all the proceeds going to the Jolliff family.

“When the Perry shooting happened, everyone felt it. And I think so for us to show our support like now that’s in May. and it happened in January, that was important to us just to show that we didn’t forget about them. And like we still want to make awareness for it, said Neela Williamson.

If you would like to support the Jolliff family, an account has been set up at Raccoon Valley Bank. You can make donations at branches in Perry, Grimes, Dallas Center, and Adel.

If you want to send a check, make it payable to Perry Community School District and designate you want it to go to the family by writing Ahmir Jolliff in the memo line.
