    Florida woman arrested for smuggling contraband into a detention center

    WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – On Monday, a Pensacola woman was arrested in Washington County for allegedly smuggling contraband into a detention center.

    On May 18, Washington County deputies said they were contacted by the Northwest Florida Reception Center (NWFL) to transport an arrestee following an investigation conducted by the prison inspector.

    Authorities said 25-year-old, Emmreiana Marie Howard was allegedly attempting to smuggle contraband into the NWFL Reception Center while visiting an inmate.

    Following the investigation, Howard was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. During intake, deputies found Howard concealing additional illegal items, deputies wrote.

    Howard was booked on the charges of introduction of contraband into a prison, three counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and trafficking methamphetamine.
