Franklin Co. Sheriff's Office releases new information about standoff, house fire near Pasco Friday

PASCO, Wash. - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office released more details behind an arrest and house fire Friday morning.
Authorities said they responded to the scene on Taylor Flats Road for a domestic call that possibly involved a firearm. When they got to the scene, they said a man reported his brother and father were inside the home and the brother was not allowing their disabled father to leave the house.
Officers with the Pasco, Kennewick and Richland Police Departments responded to the scene to help. Within the time of their arrival, FCSO officials said the man had set the house on fire.
Tri-City Regional SWAT responded to the scene and the man surrendered. He was arrested at the scene. Firefighters were able to put out the house fire quickly and authorities were able to rescue the man's father.
Authorities said no one was hurt. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said it will work with the prosecutor's office about charging the man.

Law enforcement and fire crews responded to a house fire late Friday morning in Franklin County.
The call for help came in around 10:40 a.m. after a fire was reported at 3051 Taylor Flats Road.
Authorities said they responded to the house first because of a domestic call. They said a man at the home was not allowing two people to leave the house and one of those people was an elderly person.
Tri-City Regional SWAT was called to the scene. A short time later, authorities said the man allowed the two people to leave the home but they said he then set the house on fire.
Fire crews were then called to the scene and authorities said the man surrendered. He was arrested at the scene.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire and remained on the scene to monitor and check for hotspots. Fire investigators also responded.
No one was hurt and no shots were fired during the call.
