Give Local MOV offers donation matching for organizations in north central West Virginia

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Give Local MOV Day website has reported that $452,502 was raised on Tuesday for local organizations.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — Tuesday was Give Local MOV Day, which allowed people to donate to organizations in their area with each contribution matched by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) and Superior Toyota.

Give Local MOV is a day of giving set up by the PACF that looks to raise money in order to make the area “a great place to live, work, and play.”

There were several organizations in north central West Virginia that people could donate to, including:

Harrison County

• GFWC Bridgeport Women’s Club

Doddridge County

• Doddridge County 4-H
• Doddridge County Community Foundation
• Doddridge County Humane Society
• Dodridge County Park

Ritchie County

• Ritchie County Community Foundation
• Ritchie County Humane Society
• Friends of Auburn Community Cemetery

PACF Senior Development and Stewardship Office Julia Posey told 12 News that the foundation saw that there was a need to raise awareness for nonprofits in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

Last year Give Local MOV raised around $528,000 in total. Donations end at midnight on Wednesday with $390,245 raised around 8:45 p.m.
