LOUISVILLE, Ky. — If Larry Demeritte is looking for a positive sign heading into his first Kentucky Derby as a trainer, it’s right where his horse is assigned. Long-shot West Saratoga is staying in Barn 42 at Churchill Downs, the same location where Seattle Slew was before he won the 1977 Derby and went on to sweep the Triple Crown. It was the first Derby that Demeritte attended.
122 current and former Wildcats graduate from UK
A total of 122 current and former University of Kentucky student-athletes are on track to complete academic requirements this week or in the summer term. The graduates will take part in the University's Spring Commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday in Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center (see information here). Adding the 41 student-athletes who graduated in December, UK Athletics is expected to have 163 graduates during the 2023-24 school year.
