Fayette County coroner identifies body found inside vehicle overnight

UPDATE:

The Fayette County Coroner's Office has identified the person found dead inside a vehicle overnight as 37-year-old Devin Chenault.

Lexington Police arrested 36-year-old Jerrico Roberts in connection to the shooting. He was charged with murder, assault-domestic violence, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Some charges are from unrelated warrants.

Police say during the initial investigation, detectives learned that the shooting may have taken place in the 1800 block of Liberty Road.

Lexington police are investigating after a body was found inside a vehicle on Shropshire Avenue near East Third Street just after midnight.

According to police, the vehicle was blocking the intersection, and when officers approached it, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The cause of death remains under investigation.

The Fayette County Coroner also responded to the scene.
