Rifle is holding Madness Mondays on Monday for teens to come and hang out, with art projects, music and games available. Silt’s Unsolved Sleuths returns on Tuesday, and ranchers who are facing challenges with wolf reintroduction are on Wednesday in Silt and Thursday in Carbondale. Another Writing Workshop is upon Glenwood Springs on Thursday as well, and A Day in Tahiti with Aspen Polynesia will be in Parachute and Rifle on Saturday. Craig Gallery raises funds for Palisade fire victims
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - On April 5th, an explosion happened inside a six-unit apartment complex in Palisade. The fire killed one person and displaced everyone who resided in the complex. The city was able to rally back and helped their neighbors in need by donating food, clothes, shoes toothpaste, etc. in initial relief efforts. Recently Craig Gallery, a fine arts gallery in Palisade, continued the relief efforts by hosting a Fire Victims Sale. Each handpicked piece in the gallery was marked with a Fire Sale tag and when sold, 100% of that sale was sent to the Fire Victims Fund.

Colorado 82 reopened to traffic after mudslide closures
Colorado Highway 82 has been reopened to traffic between Satank Road and Dakota Court, according to a post by the Colorado Department of Transportation. The road between Carbondale and Catherine Store was closed to traffic on Sunday morning due to a debris slide caused by a broken irrigation line, according to Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District.
Arrest of a suspect reopens a Parachute cold case
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Three years to the day of the murder of a Parachute man, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) arrested a suspect. On May 11th, 2021, the GCSO responded to reports of a male who was found bleeding and unresponsive in his car on Highway 6, just west of Parachute. The man was determined deceased on the scene and was later identified as Wayne Moore, a local man who lived in his vehicle in the surrounding areas of Parachute. Initial investigation of the scene by investigators with the GCSO and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) determined that Moore had been the victim of a homicide and was shot multiple times.
