Findlay's Montgomery earns invite to Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles

Each regional consists of a day of competition and training for top high school quarterbacks, and the best prospects from each regional are chosen to attend the finals, where an Elite 11 list and an Elite 11 MVP will be named. Montgomery, the All-Blade Player of the Year and a first-team All-Ohio honoree, is rated as a four-star prospect in the Class of 2025 and fielded offers from a long list of major college programs. He verbally committed to Georgia on April 17 after narrowing his list to Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.

Lima's Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority gives scholarships to 12 local students
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - 12 local high school students received scholarships from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on Saturday. The Sigma Mu Omega chapter and the Sisters in Service Community Foundation awarded funds to students from Lima Senior, Perry, Shawnee, Elida, and Lima Central Catholic. The scholarships come from money raised at the sorority's annual MLK Breakfast and donations from local businesses.

Fire at Bluffton home results in minimal damage
BLUFFTON — A fire that started in the basement of a Bluffton home resulted in minimal damage and no injuries on Wednesday morning. According to the Bluffton Fire Department, the damage to the home at 143 Sunset Drive was mostly due to smoke and could have been caused by an electrical problem. The single occupant made it out safely with no injuries as well as the pets.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - This is the first year for the #girlcancook Memorial Run to honor the life of Amy Market Jorgensen. Jorgensen lost her life one year ago and liked to run and cook, and when she posted on social media about her creations, she would put #girlcancook. So, friends and family wanted to honor her and created the run to raise money for Crossroads Crisis Center to help others leave a domestic violence situation.
