PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -Now to our Sonic High School Football Play of the Week. And for that we take it back to last Thursday, Bay at North Bay Haven. Tornadoes qb Zabeyon Morgan hits Omari Johnson at the Buc’s 21. Omari runs into a couple of defenders, and then breaks free of those defenders. He then drags another tackler to the goal line, reaches across and scores! Refs had to talk about it for a minute, but they eventually called it a touchdown. Bay getting the hard-fought win 31-28, so congrats to Omari Johnson for turning in our Play of the Week!
Mosley working towards game at Navarre with perhaps more pep in their step this week
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -The Mosley football team is preparing for a tough road test at Navarre this week. The Dolphins doing so with a little more pep in their step, you might say. This past Friday night they beat a pretty good Chiles team 21-14 at Chapman Field. Sammy Freitas with three touchdown passes accounting for all the Mosley points, all three of those TD passes going to Jack Massey. That win snapping a two game skid for the Dolphins, a narrow loss at Leon and then a blowout home loss to Wakulla. That the kind of spurt that can leave a team doubting itself, and in speaking with coach Whiddon, well he admits it took a toll on the guys.
Mosley volleyball defeats Arnold in straight sets
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – The Mosley volleyball team swept Arnold for the second time this season on Monday night. The Dolphins improved to 11-9 and will visit Niceville on Tuesday, October 3. The Marlins fell to 11-12 and will visit Walton on Tuesday, October 3.
Red Snapper Tournament Returns to Bay Point
The 2nd Annual Red Snapper Tournament will be held out of the Point South Marina at Bay Point (3824 Hatteras Ln., Panama City Beach) on Saturday, October 7th, with weigh-ins from 3 to 6 p.m., along with live music by Riley Anderson. The public is welcome to attend the weigh-in at no cost.
