Update May 17, 2024: The Palm Springs police department located the suspect vehicle and potential victim on Thursday just before 11:30 p.m.

Police are saying it was not an abduction but a domestic violence incident.

Detectives are now conducting follow-up investigations to identify any criminal violations.

The Palm Springs police department says they encourage anyone experiencing domestic violence or anyone aware of such a situation to seek help immediately.

They also appreciate the community's vigilance and cooperation during the investigation.

Police said they responded to a report of suspicious circumstances just before 3:00 PM in the 1200 block of San Joaquin Drive.

"Officers responded to the area following a report and determined that a female, approximately 16-20 years of age, may have been taken from the location against her will," PSPD wrote.
