OXFORD TWP. (WWJ) A small private plane went down in Oxford Township, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

While information is limited at this time; a spokesperson for the Oakland County Executive Office (OCE) said the crash happened near Oxford High School around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The plane had taken off from Oakland County International Airport, out of Maven FBO (Fixed Based Operator,).

According to the OCE, a student pilot and flight instructor reported they were experiencing a rough engine and airport crews prepared for an emergency, but the plane did not return.

No one was injured, according to the Oakland County Sheriff.

    The scene remains under investigation.
