JENISON, MI – People driving along busy Baldwin Street over the past week may have noticed a cross-adorned steeple sticking out of a pile of rubble. The work demolishing a church and accessory building are part of a project to build a private daycare and early learning center for children 6 weeks old through kindergarten on the property at 1675 Baldwin St. in Georgetown Township.

POLKTON TWP. — Multiple fire departments and local residents worked in tandem to rescue cows from an extreme barn fire in Polkton Township on Wednesday, May 8. Defendants fail to appear in court
Several separate defendants didn’t show up for their scheduled court hearings on Monday morning, resulting in warrants being issued for their arrest. Jimmy Bouthavong, of Holland, failed to appear for a scheduled arraignment, in front of Ottawa County 20th Circuit Judge Jon Hulsing, for the charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of methamphetamine from a April 1 alleged incident in Hudsonville. According to circuit court staff, defense attorney Christopher Langholz asked Hulsing for a week adjournment, but the judge denied and issued a bench warrant for Bouthavong to go into effect in 48 hours.
