Buccaneer tennis continues strong week with demolition of Jenison

Candidates make their pitch to be the next GHAPS superintendent
Three candidates made their pitch to become the next superintendent of Grand Haven Area Public Schools during Tuesday evening’s second round of interviews. The three finalists for the position, in order of their interviews Tuesday, are Kristin Perkowski, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction at Traverse City Public Schools; Jason Reinecke, assistant superintendent of human resources at GHAPS; and Scott Smith, superintendent at Cedar Springs Public Schools.
Three injured after crashing into tree
FERRYSBURG — Three people sustained “minor injuries” after crashing into a tree Wednesday morning in Ferrysburg, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. A 29-year-old male, 36-year-old female and 43-year-old male, all from Rothbury, were in a 2010 Chevy Silverado heading northbound on U.S. 31 when their vehicle “ran off the road,” police said.
