Tiger Woods Will Build a New Private Course on Long Island

Tiger Woods won the 2002 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. Twenty-four years later he is coming back to Long Island with a bulldozer. On Monday, November 2, Woods and his design firm, TGR Design, said they will build a new 18-hole private course in the Village of Brookville, on the North Shore’s Gold Coast. The site is the old Tam O’Shanter Club, a property that has sat in limbo for the better part of seven years.

Bill Murray spends Halloween at a Yonkers bar

It was a treat, not a trick at Rory Dolan's in Yonkers when actor/comedian Bill Murray showed up on Halloween. The McLean Avenue bar is continually festive — owner Rory Dolan hosts a party no matter what night Halloween falls on, but this being a Saturday, it was particularly celebratory. And all the more so when Murray came in with two friends, ate dinner (he had rib-eye and a nice bottle of wine), and later, helped pour Guinness from behind the bar. Food: It's Halloween season, here's where to eat in Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown Dolan said he was friendly with customers, many of whom approached him to talk about their favorite movies of his. Dolan, meanwhile, discussed golf courses around the world with him, including prime spots in Ireland. Murray also told Dolan he wanted to check out his place because of its reputation as having great energy. Murray's sighting, which Dolan displayed on his restaurant's Instagram page, was the latest in a string of celebrity spottings this fall. J-Lo was seen at Coffee Unique in Bronxville getting coffee while New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson, a Scarsdale resident and Laughing Horse regular, was seen in Harrison. Knicks star Jalen Brunson to appear on 'Law & Order: SVU'

Scarsdale resident and New York Knicks Point Guard Jalen Brunson makes his scripted acting debut as Detective Jay Madison in NBC's "Law & Order: SVU" at 9 p.m. Nov. 5. Brunson, whose friendship with actress Mariska Hargitay became a high-profile fandom during The Knicks playoffs and eventual "Knicks in five" win in June, was bound to be on his friend's long-running show. The episode, titled "Forsaken," fulfills a "bucket list" item for Hargitay who told NBC's Savannah Guthrie in May that the athlete was someone she wanted to make a cameo appearance on the show. Celebrities: Bill Murray spends Halloween at a Yonkers bar Brunson, who's been all over the news (and in coffee shops throughout Westchester; see him here at Laughing Horse in Harrison), hosted NBC's "Saturday Night Live" in late September. As for his SVU appearance, there's a teaser showing his character interacting with Hargitay, aka Olivia Benson, at a diner, but no more details.
