BPD searches for missing 17-year-old boy
A 17-year-old boy went missing around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 6500 block of Lowry Street, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. Kevin Valenzuela was described by BPD as Hispanic, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
BPD: Man shot and killed on V Street
A man was shot to death around 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the 800 block of V Street, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. BPD said the man was dead upon officers' arrival and the Kern County coroner’s office will release his name.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. when a single-vehicle veered off the 178 Freeway and crashed down an embankment in the area of Niles Street and Union Avenue in the city of Bakersfield.
Man gets 16 years to life for deadly stabbing
