As a Portland Public Schools supporter, and as parent of two PPS students, I am dumbstruck and heartbroken by the PPS board decision to dissolve individual school-run foundations in favor of a district-run foundation, (“Parent fundraising to staff their own child’s school in Portland is off the table. What comes next is uncertain”). Our school is now left without the ability to make up for gross underfunding.
Body found in Willamette River identified as missing St. Paul businessman
The body of a man recovered Wednesday morning in the Willamette River has been identified as the St. Paul businessman who had been missing since February. Oregon State Police said a fisherman found the body of Gurjinder "Gary" Singh Grewal, 48, of Woodburn, in the river between Oregon City and West Linn at 10:37 a.m. on Wednesday.

Good morning! Plan on a beautiful Memorial Day today with afternoon highs climbing into the upper 70s with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies and light winds. A little system moves in tomorrow afternoon bringing clouds and some afternoon showers, a bit cooler too with a high of 65. Shower chances continue into Wednesday, highs only reaching the mid 60s. We start to clear out and warm up by Thursday, expect a high of 70 degrees. Friday through the weekend, partly cloudy to mostly sunny, nice and warm, highs in the mid to upper 70s.
