Register Pecan Festival postponed due to weather
The second-annual Register Pecan Festival has been postponed due to inclement weather. Thunder, lightning and rain determined the final decision for Breanne Perry, one of the organizers of the event, citing safety as paramount. Organizers, vendors, and residents were hopeful for Saturday's outlook, and initially set up to prepare for the day, but Mother Nature had different plans. A Friday post on the event's Facebook page stated, "We do not want to risk any damage to property or injuries to our people! SAFETY FIRST!" The committee has rescheduled the festival for June 8th. They will post this soon on the Facebook page. In 2023, the Register Pecan Festival made its debut to the delight of all involved. According to a Grice Connect article from May of last year, the festival boasted food, music, and fun activities for families. Over 90 vendors will return to ensure a memorable day for festival-goers. For more information about the Register Pecan Festival, please email or visit the event's Facebook page.
