Busy road construction season planned in NYA

Waconia isn’t the only community with major road projects this year. In Norwood Young America, several road projects are slated for 2024 and proposed for 2025, according to a recent NYA city newsletter.

One major project is a complete reconstruction planned for Railroad Street from Faxon to Morse and Reform to Progress streets.

Road overlays are planned for Emma Street and Upper and Lower Brand Lake Drive. Meanwhile, street maintenance seal coat projects are slated for Faxon Road, form Central Avenue to Oak Street, Poplar Ridge Drive, Industrial Boulevard, and fire station #2 lot. Trail maintenance also is planned for Tacoma Trail.

Coming up in 2025, watch for complete reconstruction of these streets: Fourth Avenue SW, Third Avenue SW, Colonial Circle, Webster Street West, Valhalla Drive, and Hilltop Circle. Also, other mill and overlay and road maintenance projects.

City officials point out that the current plan accounts for all city streets to have road maintenance performed every five years.
