NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Actor Elliot Page was in Northampton Sunday alongside Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll to celebrate three years of Transhealth.

To celebrate one of the only healthcare organizations in Massachusetts dedicated to serving the transgender community, popular actor and transgender activist Elliot Page made their way to Northampton for a fireside chat in front of a packed crowd at the Academy of Music.

“Elliot Page is someone who has really talked a lot about his own journey, his own resilience. The hope and joy that he then brings too,” said Dallas Ducar, Ceo and President of Transhealth. “I just think that’s really, really fabulous to then bring Elliot here and so many fans that can really celebrate his journey and the journey that we’re on together.”

And Page wasn’t just in Northampton to share their message that everyone should be able to live their life authentically, the critically-acclaimed actor brought out a sold out crowd to the event where all of the proceeds will be going to Transhealth.

The money raised will be going to Transhealth’s programs and services which include adult primary care, pediatric care, mental health services, a community gathering space and community closet, support groups, events, education, advocacy, and research.

Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll was part of the Transhealth Birthday Benefit and told 22News that seeing support for the trans community and Transhealth is so important, especially now in such a divisive time throughout the country.

“Transhealth is such an important institution, not just in Western Mass. but in the Commonwealth serving those who need gender affirming care and doing so in a way that allows safe accessible comprehensive treatment which is so necessary,” Driscoll said.

Transhealth CEO Dallas Ducar did tell me that not only did they reach their fundraising goal tonight, they comfortably surpassed it.
