Former Oklahoma wide receiver Drake Stoops, the son of legendary former Sooners head coach Bob Stoops, is getting a shot in the NFL.

The Los Angeles Rams signed the younger Stoops as an undrafted free agent shortly after the completion of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Drake caught 84 passes for 962 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season for the Sooners.

After the Rams signed Drake late last month, Bob joined KREF's "The Rush" and offered some thoughts on his son's landing spot.

The former national championship-winning coach thinks Drake landed in a great situation with the Rams.

" I love it, I think it's a great fit ," said the elder Stoops. "Love Coach (Sean) McVay, just watching him. Don't really personally know him, but I've always respected and appreciated the way they coach and play design and everything they do. Really solid program and he does a great job."

Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are entrenched at the top of the Rams' depth chart. Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell are also factors at wide receiver in Los Angeles.

Outside of those four, however, there aren't many certainties on the Rams' depth chart at wide receiver.

Drake should have a decent chance to make an impact with the Rams. He's a sure-handed receiver who plays smart. He may not be the most athletic guy on the field, but he proved at Oklahoma that he can be productive in the right system. And McVay's system certainly seems like it plays to Drake's strengths.
