Sean Kingston Raided By Officials Over Alleged Merchandise Payment Scam; Mother Reportedly Taken into Custody

Whew! It looks like Diddy isn’t the only celebrity who‘s recently gotten an unfriendly visit from the feds.

Singer and rapper Sean Kingston got an unwanted knock on his door Thursday morning over his involvement in an alleged scam. The raid was conducted in response to allegations that Kingston had not paid for a substantial entertainment system worth $150,000. Clearly, the authorities took swift action, aiming to uncover the truth behind the accusations.

Now, according to WSVN , during the raid, Anderson’s mother, Janice Turner, was taken into custody and is now facing several charges related to fraud and theft. The specific details of her involvement in the alleged payment scam have not yet been disclosed.

A Lawsuit and More Allegations:

The incident involving Sean Kingston and the unpaid merchandise is not an isolated case. Back in February, a lawsuit was filed against Kingston, claiming that he had failed to make payment for the merchandise.

Furthermore, Dennis Card, who is an attorney representing the company involved, stated that Kingston has a repetitive pattern of enticing people with his celebrity status and convincing them to release items without providing payment. He added that the rapper has been exploiting his position as a recording artist to acquire goods without fulfilling his financial obligations.

In a statement to the outlet, Card said, “He is stealing the property itself. He has a standardized script that he gives people, which is that he’s a recording artist, that he certainly is, and that he wants to purchase these things, but he never pays for anything. He gets the stuff and that’s the end of the story. He does it over and over and over.”
