With all precincts published Dave Roberson and Mary Hardin Thornton have won the Floyd County sheriff and clerk of court races respectively.

Roberson has 5,218 votes to challenger Robbie Whitfield's 1,342. Thornton has 4,077 votes to incumbent Barbara Penson's 2,452.

With all precincts have reported as 9 p.m. All election results remain unofficial until certified by the Floyd County Board of Elections.

Floyd County voters also chose state Sen. Colton Moore over challenger Angela Pence in the GOP primary.

With 10% of counties complete, it appears there is a potential of a runoff for the Democratic Party nomination for the 14th District Congressional seat. Candidate Shawn Harris holds a lead, but as of 9 p.m. doesn't have the required 50 plus one percent to avoid a runoff. As of 9 p.m it appears that runoff may be in a runoff with Clarence Blalock.

That would take place on June 18.

A Georgia Supreme Court seat will also be decided in Tuesday’s election, along with the Democratic nominee to face U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Rome, in November.

There are no Democrats running for Floyd County sheriff or clerk of court, so the winners of the Republican primary will appear alone on the general election ballot this fall.
