WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — The Salvation Army of Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel and Tyler Counties held its Annual Community Baby Shower today.

Several local agencies were brought in to share information on nutrition, education, and emotional support for new mothers.

Families throughout the area were provided free resources for their baby and could enter in a drawing to win a variety of prizes such as highchairs, strollers, or a crib.

“Sometimes you’re going through something emotional, and you don’t know where to turn, you don’t know who to ask, and having the agencies here – the parents are able to asks those questions, they’re able to get the information that they need.”

    Candace Lawrence, Salvation Army Lieutenant

The Salvation Army was happy to help new families get the resources they need to succeed.
