CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– This is the weekend to get your Greek on in the Midstate as the 52nd Annual PA Greek Fest returns.

During the festival at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, located at 1000 Yverdon Drive, that runs from Friday to Sunday there is all kinds of food, dancing and Greek culture.

One food stand is called Saganaki, which is a fried cheese that is hit with some brandy but not right before the traditional “OPA!” yell.

If you are a food lover, this is your kind of festival. “We go through 58,000 pieces of pastry, 18.000 Gyros,” mayor of Greek Fest Dimitri Zozos said. Cooking starts in February and takes many hours but its all “because of the love they have for the community, and their culture and their heritage. The tradition continues, these recipes came from Greece.”

There also where dancers performing dances from the different areas of Greece which keeps the crowds of people entertained. There are three groups of dancers and their practice starts in September.
