Resurfacing project will close WIS 82 in Vernon County for the whole summer

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -- A resurfacing project in Vernon County will close down a stretch of WIS 82 for the entire summer.

In a release Friday, the Wisconsin DOT announced Governor Evers signed a $9.7 million contract to resurface WIS 82 between WIS 35 in DeSoto and WIS 27 in Vernon County.

The project will repair pavement condition, as well as replace curb, gutter and guardrail, add new pavement markings, and repair nine box culverts.

Construction officially begins Monday. On May 28, WIS 82 will be closed to traffic through September 13. During this time, motorists will need to detour using WIS 56 and US 14.

After September 13, WIS 82 will be under flagging operations until the project's expected completion date of October 31.
