Just in case you have been living under a rock, the storied and long-missed video game franchise EA College Football is coming back.

The news has been teased for months, but we now have both an official release date of July 19th and an official trailer which can be seen below.

Everyone's favorite game modes will be returning: Road To Glory (of course), Dynasty, and even Team Builder will be making a return.

We have gone a decade without seeing a new game, meaning we have missed a lot of fun players to play with in the EA Sports College Football video game.

Let's take a look at some of the best players we missed the opportunity to play with in that time:

    1. Lamar Jackson, Louisville

This one is an obvious choice and an easy first overall selection. Lamar was electric in college and continues to be electric in the NFL.

Highlighted by his 2015-2016 Heisman-winning season, Lamar would have had users salivating to use him in the game. His mobility, elusiveness, combined with his arm is something everyone tries to replicate when they start their Road To Glory career mode.

    2. Marcus Mariota, Oregon

Yet another missed Heisman campaign from the 2013-2014 season, Mariota was similar to Lamar Jackson in the most basic sense. He was mobile and had a strong arm.

That offense was fun, electric and was an explosive play waiting to happen with Mariota and De'Anthony Thomas leading the charge.

    3. Derrick Henry, Alabama

We have our first non-quarterback on the list.

Who wouldn't want to play as 6'3, 240-pound running back? Henry's college career was full of punishing runs and a stiff arm that would go on to make him famous.

Derrick Henry's build was create-a-player-esque. Everyone would have loved to use him in the game.

    4. Trevor Lawrence, Clemson

The most hyped high school recruit of recent memory, and he did not disappoint throughout his collegiate career.

Lawrence would make the college football playoff three times in his collegiate career, making championship game appearances, and winning one.

That offense of Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Hunter Renfrow, Tee Higgins, and Amari Rodgers made Clemson a nearly unstoppable dynasty at its peak.

    5. The Whole 2018-2019 LSU Team

The 2019 LSU season might be one of the most exciting ones in recent memory. Led by transfer quarterback Joe Burrow, that LSU roster was drowning in NFL talent. In addition to Burrow, they had Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, and Terrace Marshall, and that was just on offense.

On defense, they had K'Lavon Chaisson, Patrick Queen, Devin White, Grant Delpit, Damone Clark, Kristian Fulton, and Derek Stingley.

The team was loaded, and produced one of the most enjoyable seasons of college football, winning the playoff just down the road from their home in New Orleans.
