    Okfuskee County man faces federal misdemeanor charges in Jan. 6 riot

    OKFUSKEE COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — An Okfuskee County man is facing federal misdemeanor charges for his alleged participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

    According to a report from Tulsa World , 43-year-old Matthew Titus Allen told FBI agents during a phone interview on Nov. 15, 2022, that he attended a “Stop the Steal” rally in support of former President Donald Trump before walking with the crowd to the U.S. Capitol.

    He also reportedly admitted to walking into what he believed to be the Capitol Rotunda after police told the crowd they could not enter.

    Allen has been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol building; and parading, picketing and demonstrating in a Capitol building.
