ODOT construction in Athens County for the week of May 20

MARIETTA — Ohio Department of Transportation announced that the following projects are anticipated to affect highways in Athens County during the week of May 20.

A signal replacement and turn lane installation project is taking place at US 50/Washington Road. Estimated completion date is Nov. 1.A resurfacing project is taking place on US 50 between Della Drive and River Road. Lane closures are place in both directions. Additionally, there will be periodic closures of the ramps from East State Street to U.S. 50, and from U.S. 50 to East State Street. Resurfacing begins in June on East State Street. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The estimated completion date is Aug. 15.A bridge deck repair project begins Monday on US 33 west, just past Exit 197A (US 50/State Route 32 East). One lane will be closed. The estimated completion date is May 29.A resurfacing project is taking place on State Route 690, between US 50 and State Route 550. Traffic is being maintained by flaggers. The estimated completion date is July 31.Rolling closures will be in place on the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway from Tuesday until June 14 for a resurfacing project. There will be signs in place, informing path users of where exactly it is closed.A pedestrian safety improvement project is taking place on South Green Drive. Work includes installation of Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), bulb outs, and curb ramps. A 10-foot width restriction is in place. The estimated completion date is Aug. 5.
