Crash cleared on I-64 East in New Kent

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Eastbound lanes on Interstate 64 in New Kent County were shut down Wednesday night due to a vehicle crash, and were later reopened.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the crash took place just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, on I-64 East shortly before Courthouse Road.

As of 11:06 p.m., all eastbound lanes were shut down as crews respond to the scene. The area was later cleared.

8News reached out to Virginia State Police to ask about possible injuries relating to the crash but has not heard back as of the time of reporting.

No other information is available at this time.
