KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — West Virginia’s primary night has sent an upheaval through the State Capitol building as multiple incumbent Republican senators lost, including State Senate President Craig Blair, of Berkeley County.

The Associated Press has called the West Virginia State Senate District 15 Republican race for former U.S. Senate candidate Tom Willis. He will go on to face Democrat Anthony Murray in November’s general election.

State Sen. Mike Maroney (R-Marshall) lost to Chris Rose. According to the Secretary of State’s website, no Democrats filed to run for that seat.

State Sen. Chandler Swope (R-Mercer) lost to Craig A. Hart. He will face Democratic challenger Randy Fowler.

State Sen. Robert Karnes (R-Randolph) lost to Robbie Morris. He will face Democratic candidate Mandy Smith Weirich.
