EF0 tornado destroys outbuildings, downs trees in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – Multiple outbuildings were damaged and several trees were blown over after an EF0 tornado in Lawrence County.

Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency spokesperson Bill Phillips told News 2 the majority of the damage was reported at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 along East Eden Road, northeast of Ethridge.

Phillips said the National Weather Service will send an assessment team to the area Wednesday morning to see if the damage was caused by a tornado or straight line winds. On Wednesday, officials determined the damage was caused by an EF0 tornado.

Several units from Lawrence County Fire and Rescue, along with crews from Lawrence County EMA and other agencies responded to the area to help.

Officials said at least one house sustained substantial damage to its roof and several outbuildings were completely destroyed.

No injuries were reported.
