MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — All election night results are in for Monongalia County , and there was an upset in the race for Division 1’s 21st Circuit Court judge.

Paul Gwaltney, who has held the position for almost a year, was defeated by Michael Simms, who is an attorney in the county. Gwaltney received 34.2% of the votes, and Simms received 41.7%, according to election night results.

Gwaltney was appointed by Gov. Jim Justice to the 17th Circuit Court in Monongalia County last summer after Judge Susan B. Tucker retired. That position was shifted to the 21st Circuit Court for this election.

Although this is the Primary Election , results of nonpartisan races, like judicial seats, are final.

Another notable results in Monongalia County is for Westover City Council. Three winners were to be chosen from four candidates, and two candidates, Duane Tatar and Edie Viola, tied with 21.65% of the vote each. This means that a run off election will have to determine who will take the third seat alongside the election night winners, Randy Barnett and Mark Gall.

Results for the rest of the races in Monongalia County are available below.
