WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – State transportation leaders want to hear about three intersection improvement projects in Williamsburg and Georgetown County communities.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) will conduct an intersection improvement project at SC 41 (County Line Road) and S-38 (Big Dam Swamp Road) to improve safety and reduce operational conflicts along the route.

The project aims to realign County Line Road with Big Dam Swamp and cul-de-sac the existing road just before Happy Home Freewill Baptist Church.

Two projects are being planned in Williamsburg County. The first is an intersection improvement for US 52 and S-186 (Eastland Avenue).

This project would flatten the curve at the junction of Eastland Avenue and US 52, enhance safety at the intersection, and potentially add a dedicated right-turn lane for traffic coming from Eastland Ave. onto US 52.

An intersection improvement project at S-45 (Easley Highway)/S-80 (Holliman Road)/S-593 (Old Greeleyville Road) would relocate Holliman Road to the east, tying into Old Greeleyville Road.

There is also a plan to add pedestrian facilities at the intersection.

The comment period for each project opens May 15 and runs through June 15. Click the link below for more information and to leave feedback:
