When firefighters arrived at the location, officials said they found flames coming from near the middle of the roof. Crews eventually had to evacuate the home due to firefighter safety concerns after conditions deteriorated.

According to officials, neighbors contacted 911 after hearing a loud lightning strike during a severe storm. One resident was at home and sleeping at the time of the fire but was able to escape.
