    Sussex County Public Schools to dismiss students early due to forecasted severe weather

    SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Sussex County Public Schools will dismiss students early Thursday due to forecasted severe thunderstorms.

    According to the school district’s website, high school and middle school students will be dismissed at noon and elementary school students will be dismissed at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.

    Thursday is a VIPER ALERT day with strong storms expected throughout central Virginia beginning Thursday afternoon and lasting into the evening.
