Candler County Sheriff’s Office search for wanted suspect

CANDLER COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV)- The Candler County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is searching for a subject who is possibly armed with a firearm that was involved in an incident.

On Tuesday, about 9:30 p.m., CCSO deputies responded to a residence on Turkey Ridge Road for a shots-fired call.

According to officials, it was reported that a person fired shots from the roadway towards a residence.

The subject fled on foot in an unknown direction of travel.

Deputies set up a perimeter and opened an investigation. A description of the subject could not be determined due to the nature of the incident.

The Special Response Team was called in, which included tracking K9s, UAVs, and personnel.

Code Red and Social Media alerts were sent out to notify the community.

After a thorough ground and air search, deputies could not locate the subject.

Deputies collected evidence that should lead to the identification of the person responsible.

Investigators are working on the case.

CCSO is asking residents in the area to please lock their doors and call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
