    Upcoming long-term road closure for bridge rehabilitation in Lunenburg

    LUNENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A stretch of Oral Oaks Road in Lunenburg County will soon be closed for over a month to allow for a bridge rehabilitation project.

    The Virginia Department of Transportation will be closing Oral Oaks Road between New Grove Road and Plank Road beginning Monday, May 20, according to a May 8 press release.

    This work, weather permitting, should be complete by early July.

    During that time, drivers should use the following detours:

    • Northbound: Turn right on Plank Road, then turn left on Beach Forest Road. Finally, return to Oral Oaks Road.
    • Southbound: Turn left on Beach Forest Road, then turn right on Plank Road. Finally, return to Oral Oaks Road.
    Eastbound Downtown Expressway Ramp in Richmond to close for maintenance
