    Brackets for Maryland baseball and softball playoffs: Where Bayside South teams play

    The baseball and softball regular seasons in Maryland have wrapped up, and the postseason now begins for teams as they head out onto the diamond. With games set to start on May 9, teams will start playoff journeys that they hope will end with a state championship.

    Here is are the playoff brackets for the Bayside South's baseball and softball teams:

    Baseball

    Defending Class 2A State Champion Parkside are the No. 2 seed in their Class 2A East II Region and will get a bye in the first round of regionals. They will then host the regional semifinals against the winner of Easton-Wicomico, with No. 6 seed Wicomico traveling to Easton to face the Warriors in the quarterfinals.

    There are two Bayside South teams in Class 3A, and they will both be competing in Class 3A East Region I. Stephen Decatur, who reached the state semifinals, are the No. 1 seed in the region, and will receive a bye in the regional quarterfinals. They will host the winner of the Arundel and South River game in the regional semifinals. James M. Bennett is the No. 3 seed in the region, and will travel to face No. 2 Severna Park in the regional semifinals.

    In Class 1A East Region II, there are five Bayside South teams competing for a regional championship. No. 1 seed Snow Hill, No. 2 Mardela and No. 3 Pocomoke each received byes in the regional quarterfinals. Mardela will host Pocomoke in the regional semifinals.

    Washington and Crisfield are the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds, and the two Somerset County teams will face each other in the regional quarterfinals, with Washington hosting. The winner will then travel to face Snow Hill in the semifinals.

    In Class 2A, Stephen Decatur, Parkside and Wicomico are all competing in the Class 2A East II Region. Decatur, who made it to the state semifinals last season, earned the No. 2 seed in the region, and will host No. 7 Wicomico this week in the first round of regionals. Parkside, the No. 5 seed, will travel to face North Caroline.

    The James M. Bennett Clippers are the lone team in Class 3A, and as the No. 5 seed, they will travel to face Arundel in the regional quarterfinals.

    In Class 1A, Mardela, who finished the regular season undefeated and also reached the state semifinals last season, are the No. 1 seed and received a bye in the first round. They will host the winner of Pocomoke and Snow Hill, with Snow Hill traveling to face Pocomoke in the regional quarterfinals.

    Washington, the No. 7 seed, will be on the road to face North Dorchester in the regional quarterfinals, and Crisfield as the No. 6 seed will travel to face Cambridge-South Dorchester.
