SUMMERS COUNTY, W.Va. — Project Linus, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing handmade blankets to children facing serious illness or trauma, is extending its reach to Southern West Virginia with a new chapter.

In an effort to bolster their mission in the region, the newly formed Southern West Virginia chapter of Project Linus will be hosting a special event titled "Project Linus at the Library" at the Summers County Public Library.

The event, scheduled for Tuesday, May 28 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., will provide an opportunity for community members to come together and create no-sew fleece blankets. These blankets, crafted with care during the event, will later be distributed to local organizations that cater to children in need, including REACHH.

Participants of all ages and skill levels are welcome to attend the event. Light refreshments will be served to all attendees.

For those interested in joining the initiative or seeking further details, please contact Kaylee McClung, Chapter Coordinator at 757-291-0542 or by email at projectlinusofswva@gmail.com.

Don't miss this chance to make a difference in a child's life while enjoying an afternoon of community and compassion at the Summers County Public Library.
