VIROQUA, Wis. (WKBT) -- The Vernon County Sheriff's Department has received reports of residents receiving scam calls pretending to be a Deputy Sheriff.

Sheriff Roy Torgerson received at least three reports of people receiving scam calls and voicemails on Monday. At least one person was told there was a warrant out for their arrest.

The phone number left by the caller was 608-710-1490 and is not associated with their office.

The Sheriff's department urges citizen to not answer or call back the number, and to not give out personal information.
