Circle K , 3819 Haverhill, inspected March 5. Containers of hot dogs had at least five different date stickers on them, some months old. The pop fountain nozzles had heavy mold-like buildup inside. The food-prep sink was very dirty and full of dried, dirty dishware and trash. Hot-holding foods on the self-service line were all too cool. The walk-in cooler had been turned off and all foods inside it were too warm. Multiple containers of hot dogs in the cooler beneath the roller grill were past their expiration dates.

Quaternary ammonium sanitizer in a spray bottle was excessively strong. Nut sifters, scale containers, and empty storage containers sitting around the facility were not cleaned after use. The scoop and nut sifters were dirty with food debris and were stored in a dusty, dirty area for extended time. A cardboard box was used improperly to hold large blocks of chocolate that were then stabbed with an ice pick to break them up, creating many holes in the cardboard which is not a washable surface. Plastic chocolate storage containers had manufacturer’s labels all over them.
