1 dead after Laurel County car crash

LONDON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Kentucky State Police said it’s currently investigating a fatal car crash that happened Sunday in Laurel County.

According to troopers, Laurel County 911 informed officers at around 5:40 p.m. Sunday that a vehicle had reportedly run off the road and hit a tree in the McWhorter Road area, according to KSP documents.

KSP said that its initial investigation revealed that Trevor Waskom, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office.

According to KSP documents, Waskom had been reported missing by his family on April 26.

KSP said the investigation is ongoing and carried out by KSP troopers with assistance from the Laurel County Fire Department and other emergency personnel.
