Bowling Green Humane Society asking for help battling puppy’s skin infection

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society is asking for help after a guardian angel helped save a 5-month-old puppy.

“When Nova arrived yesterday, we could see the sorrow in her eyes. She’s less than a year old, but she’s experienced pain and sadness that no 5-month-old pup ever should,” the humane society wrote on Facebook .

Nova was rescued on Wednesday with an advanced case of demodectic mange with severe scabbed and infected skin and swollen lymph nodes.

“She’ll have a long road to healing, needing months of medication and medicated baths, but we know it can be done. We want to do everything we can for her so that she can eventually be adopted and have a beautiful life befitting a sweet soul like hers,” the humane society said.

Now that Nova is in a safe place where she can receive the medical care she needs the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society is asking for donations to help support her care.

“As always, any donations over the cost of Nova’s care will go directly to our Sick & Injured Medical Fund to help with future cases. We appreciate each and every dollar. Thank you for helping us help Nova, and helping us continue to save lives!” Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society said.
