It was halted at deuce in the opening game with Keys serving before her eventual straight sets win.
Medics came to the court to treat the fan.
The USTA issued a statement that the fan was stabilized by medical personnel after experiencing a medical incident.

During the delay, Keys brought two fresh towels and a bottle of water to where the spectator was.
“Obviously not how you want to start a match, but I feel like in situations like that I can’t really do many things other than offer towels and water,” said Keys, who defeated Vondrousova 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the U.S. Open semifinals . “I mean, it just felt like the right thing to do.”
