Nick Saban makes major move toward retirement

For most of the past two decades, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has been the most dominant coach in college football. But he’s clearly nearing retirement age, and one recent move has many college football fans thinking the end of his career could be near.

According to a report from the Palm Beach Post, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban recently purchased a $17.5 million mansion on Jupiter Island in South Florida. And it sounds like it’s quite a place.

“His new three-story home has tropical gardens, water features, flat lawn and entertaining areas, multiple decks and terraces with seating and dining areas, a guest suite with a kitchenette and its own entrance, a three-car garage, a whole-house generator, floor-to-ceiling glass walls,” Front Office Sports wrote.

Obviously, Saban wouldn’t have bought a gorgeous $17.5 million home if he didn’t intend to live in it, and it’s tough to coach for the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, Alabama when you live on Jupiter Island, in Florida. This has many college football fans thinking that Saban is ready to retire.

Saban has not given any public indication that he is planning to retire anytime soon, but this move certainly didn’t help any speculation.
