CANANDAIGUA – The Canandaigua City Republican Committee has announced its slate, setting the stage for four contested races for City Council and one for city supervisor.

Each of the seats carries four-year terms.

Lindsay Loiacono is running for City Council’s Ward 1; Sean Buck, who has run for City Council in the past, is seeking the Ward 2 seat; John Nagle Caraluzzo is running for Ward 3; and Patrick Rhodes is going for the Ward 4 seat.

Also, incumbent City Supervisor Rich Russell is seeking reelection to the Ontario County Board of Supervisors, representing Wards 2 and 3. Russell, who took office in January 2010, will face a challenge from Democrat Nancy Yacci, who last week was endorsed in her bid for the seat.

City Democrats also announced last week a full City Council slate, with endorsements of Michael Mills to represent the city’s Ward 1; Guy Turchetti for Ward 2; Marcy Senglaub Bruner for Ward 3; and Erich Dittmar, who is finishing out his first term, for Ward 4.

Incumbent Councilmembers Karen White, Dan Unrath and Ellen Polimeni are not seeking reelection.

At this point, incumbent Democratic Canandaigua Supervisor David Baker, who represents Wards 1 and 4 on the Board of Supervisors, is running unopposed.
