West Virginia law enforcement officers made a huge drug bust on Wednesday that netted enough illegal drugs to get the entire state high, including 21 lbs of pot and close to 3,000 pills.

Members of the LCSO went to an address on Nighbert Avenue as part of a drug investigation. When officers arrived at the scene, they could already smell pot coming from the house.

Homeowner Thomas Esposito opened the door to talk to them. Police observed some clear baggies containing what appeared to be marijuana sticking out of his front shirt pocket.

Officers told him they were there to investigate reported drug activity and he gave them verbal and written permission to search the place.

When officers stepped inside they spotted what they called a "vast amount" of marijuana in the living room. They also found a refrigerator packed with pot in the laundry room and pot packaging materials along with digital scales.

Mr. Esposito also had 24 Suboxone patches on him. He told police that Randal Todd Mooney was in a room on the second floor.

When officers headed upstairs, they found even more drugs in that room:

    • several clear glass jars of marijuana
    • Suboxone
    • Xanax
    • Klonopin
    • Adderall Pills
    • Roxicodone
    • Meth
    • THC Wax
    • Psychedelic Mushrooms
    • Dextroamphetamine
    • Neurontin

Officers got permission from Mooney to search another home that he stays at. The search turned up even more Neurontin and 11 more lbs of marijuana in the attic. Mooney also had a .45 caliber pistol on him. Both Mooney and Esposito are convicted felons.

Officers took both men into custody.
